COMMUNITY OUTREACH SPONSORSHIP FORM
PAST OUTREACH PROGRAM SPONSORS
MIAM LADIES CLUB goes to next level
Your enthusiasm was spectacular – contagious
You got it done!
Thanks for your generosity.
At the recent Spring Conference held in Clare,
you outdid yourselves by foregoing our usual
interactive games to make and present blankets to the
MID-MICHIGAN COMMUNITY ACTION HOMELESS PROGRAM
For over 42 years, this wonderful charity has serviced an entire area
fighting poverty including Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Isabella, Mecosta, Midland and
Osceola Counties and we are pleased to have been involved with them on an
intimate level this spring. It is because of
your hard work and generosity that we were successful in contributing over 50
blankets to the homeless and less fortunate, bringing a small piece
of warmth and comfort to many families in need.
Thanks for your generosity.
In addition, a separate
live auction for three hand-made copper pieces,
two lanterns and one lighthouse, made by the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union #80
Apprentices, brought in over $325 which was also donated directly to Mid-Michigan
Community Action Homeless Program. The expert auctioneer was our own
Phil Brummel, Allendale Inspector. We look forward to continued donations of
these and other beautiful pieces to auction at each Conference.
Thanks for your generosity.
It’s hard to know if
we can top ourselves this fall, but we want to try!
As you know, the Conference will be held at the lovely Crystal Mountain
Resort and it is our practice in the fall to provide cold-weather clothing to
the local charity, called Benzie County Community
Chest. This organization fights poverty and supports charities in
Benzonia, Beulah, Elberta, Frankfort, Honor, Lake Ann and Thompsonville
.
Past suggestions have included new or gently-used
coats, sweaters, boots, gloves, hats, scarves - for young, old, men, women,
children. There is particular need for outdoor durable flame
resistant, waterproof, warm work wear like Carhartt, Cabalas, Bass Pro, Meijer –
brand name does not matter.
This year we would like to extend our generosity beyond clothing to include
pantry staples - food supplies, toiletries, laundry items.
We strongly encourage you to “Buy Michigan” (such as
Meijer, Kroger) for everything and ask that each inspector and his
wife bring at least 6 to 12 non-perishable food /
general items.
It could then be possible to
donate close to 2000 pieces of goods.
Thanks for your generosity.
We envision part of the ladies program coming together to
build laundry baskets of food and necessities
to donate to and by the Benzie Area Christian Neighbors from the MIAM
Ladies Club and to families in need. Thanks for
your generosity.
What do you say, Members –
are you in?
